Social Networking Secrets of Benjamin Franklin

Most people believe that the older you get, the sicker you get, yet the centenarians we've met demonstrate the opposite: The older they got, the healthier they've been. I call them centenarian jackpots. From a medical standpoint they've been able to markedly escape the diseases we associate with aging - heart disease, cancer, stroke, Alzheimer's. Freed from major illnesses, centenarians are cooking meals, balancing checkbooks, driving cars, lifting weights, playing bridge, reading books and socializing with family and friends.

Adore God. Reverence and cherish your parents. Love your neighbor as yourself, and your country more than yourself. Be just. Be true. Murmur not at the ways of Providence. Above all things lose no occasion of exercising your dispositions to be grateful, to be generous, to be charitable, to be humane, to be true, just, firm, orderly, courageous & compassionate.

Thomas Jefferson

The Middle East will either become a place of progress and peace, or it will be an exporter of violence and terror that takes more lives in America and in other free nations. The triumph of democracy and tolerance in Iraq, in Afghanistan, and beyond would be a grave setback for international terrorism. The terrorists thrive on the support of tyrants and on the resentments of oppressed peoples. When tyrants fall, and resentment gives way to hope, men and women in every culture reject the ideologies of terror, and turn to the pursuits of peace. Everywhere that freedom takes hold, terror will retreat.

George W. Bush
